Easy ticket booking

I just bought a Super Sparpreis ticket for a trip next month. The website was pretty easy to navigate, took me like 5 minutes to find the right train and book it. No problems at all, felt good about the price too.

Great value with BahnCard 25

I finally got my BahnCard 25 this time, and it was such a good decision! I used it for an ICE Fahrkarte from Berlin to Munich and the savings were noticeable. Booking was smooth, and getting the digital card in the app was super convenient. I'm definitely going to get a lot of use out of this. Highly recommend for anyone traveling in Germany!

Always reliable for travel

This is like my fifth time booking with bahn.de, and they're consistently good. I got a Flexpreis ticket this time because my plans were a bit up in the air, and it was reassuring to know I had that flexibility. My previous Sparpreis bookings were also fine, though sometimes you have to book way ahead for the best deals. The site is familiar now, so I can find what I need quickly. My ticket arrived in my email right away, just like always. It's my go-to for train travel in Germany.

Just curious, how early can you actually book tickets for the summer? Planning a trip for July and want to snag some cheap ones.

L Laura 2 months ago
I think tickets usually open up like 6 months in advance. So for July, you should be able to book them now or very soon.

Yeah, typically around 180 days before travel. The earlier you book, especially for popular routes, the better chance you have at getting the Super Sparpreis deals. Don't wait too long for summer trips!

If I book a Sparpreis ticket and the train gets delayed for like an hour, can I still get some money back or is it totally fixed once you buy it?

O Omar K. 2 months ago
You definitely can! They have a system for that. Just keep your ticket and check their website for how to claim compensation. Done it a few times myself.

Yes, you have passenger rights! Even with a Sparpreis ticket, if the train is delayed by an hour or more, you're usually entitled to some compensation. It's not the full ticket price back, but it's something. Just fill out the form.

Anyone know if you can use more than one of those eCoupons when buying a ticket online? Got a couple from different promos.

T Tom 2 months ago
Afraid not, pretty sure it's one coupon per transaction. Tried it myself once, didn't work.

Nah, usually they only let you apply one. It's kinda annoying, but that's how most of these sites work with coupons.

What's the real difference between FlixTrain and Bahn for long journeys? Trying to decide which to use for a Berlin to Munich trip.

E Emma 3 months ago
FlixTrain is usually way cheaper but can be less reliable with delays sometimes, and fewer routes. DB is more expensive but generally more punctual and way more connections.

Depends on your priorities. FlixTrain is usually the budget option, good if you don't mind potentially fewer amenities or less frequent departures. DB has more comfort (usually, not always) and definitely way more coverage across the country. If punctuality is key, I'd lean DB.

Hey, thinking of getting a BahnCard 25 for a trip next month. Does it actually save you money on those Super Sparpreis tickets too, or is it just for the regular ones?

T Troy Kim 2 months ago
Yeah, it works for Sparpreis and Super Sparpreis tickets too. That's kinda the main benefit for a lot of people, I think.

It definitely does! I got one last year and used it on a couple of Super Sparpreis tickets, knocked a decent chunk off the price. Just make sure to select the BahnCard option when you're booking.
